自社再エネ・ブランド「ReENE（リエネ）」フル活用で「世界40社」の一角に
2024年4月25日、東急不動産（本社：渋谷区、星野浩明社長）は、企業・団体の再エネ100％活用を目標とする国際的取り組み「RE100」を、金融機関を除いた事業会社としては国内で初めて取得したと発表した。
同社の事業所と保有施設の使用電力を対象に、2022年12月1日～2023年11月30日の1年間を通じて、RE100事務局である環境NGO「CDP」（本部イギリス）が再エネの利用実績をモニタリングし、”合格”と認定された。
ただし、現実問題として基準を満たすグリーンガスの国内調達が不可能なため、コージェネ自家発電の電力（全体の0.2%分）は対象外にしている。
そして、この事実はRE100事務局発行の2023年報告書を通じ、厳密な再エネ発電量を「99.8%」として、開示・公表している。
同社は、「渋谷ヒカリエ」など、東京・渋谷地区の商業複合ビル群を筆頭に、オフィスビル、商業施設、ホテル・リゾート施設、シニア住宅などを国内で多数運営、大口の電力ユーザーであると同時に、「ReENE（リエネ）」の事業ブランドで、メガソーラーなど総計1.7GW超の再エネ発電事業も展開する顔も併せ持つ。
このため、年間再エネ電力使用料約3億kWhの約98％を、自前の再エネ発電で賄っており、これも当社の強みと言っていいだろう。
こうした取り組みで、年間のCO2排出量を約13万t削減（一仮定約6万9000世帯分に相当）している。
なおRE100に参画する国内企業・団体は、2024年3月末現在で85社。同社は2019年に加盟、不動産業では国内初である。

On April 25, 2024, Tokyu Real Estate (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, President: Hiroaki Hoshino) announced that it had become the first company in Japan to achieve the international initiative “RE100,” which aims for 100% renewable energy utilization by corporations and organizations, excluding financial institutions.
The company’s electricity usage at its offices and owned facilities was monitored by the RE100 Secretariat, the environmental NGO “CDP” (based in the UK), from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023, over a one-year period, resulting in certification of compliance.
However, due to the practical impossibility of domestically sourcing green gas that meets the criteria, electricity generated from cogeneration self-generation (accounting for 0.2% of the total) is excluded from the assessment.
This fact was disclosed in the 2023 report issued by the RE100 Secretariat, which specified a deduction of this electricity, resulting in a reported renewable energy usage of “99.8%.”
Tokyu Real Estate operates numerous commercial complexes in the Tokyo Shibuya area, such as “Shibuya Hikarie,” as well as office buildings, commercial facilities, hotels, resort facilities, and senior housing nationwide.
Additionally, it conducts renewable energy generation projects totaling over 1.7GW under its business brand “ReENE (Renewable Energy).”
Approximately 98% of the annual renewable energy consumption, around 300 million kWh, is covered by its own renewable energy generation, further showcasing the company’s strength.
Through these initiatives, the company has achieved an annual reduction of approximately 130,000 tons of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of around 69,000 households in a hypothetical scenario.
As of the end of March 2024, 85 domestic companies and organizations have participated in RE100, with Tokyu Real Estate being the first in the real estate industry to join in 2019.
